You can insert up to 255 worksheets, depending upon available memory and the number of worksheets in other active files. Note You can insert and delete columns, rows, and ranges as well as worksheets. For information, see "Inserting and deleting columns, rows and ranges" in Chapter 7. To insert one worksheet at a time Using the New Sheet button is the quickest way to insert one worksheet at a time. A click of this button inserts one worksheet immediately after the current worksheet. 1. Click the New Sheet button. [ILLU] To insert a specified number of worksheets Using Edit Insert, you can insert a specified number of worksheets immediately before or after the current worksheet. This method is convenient when you want to insert many worksheets and don't want to click the New Sheet button over and over. It's also the only way to insert worksheets before the current worksheet. 1. Choose Edit Insert. 2. Select Sheet. [ILLU] 3. Select Before or After. 4. In the Quantity text box, click the arrows or enter the number of worksheets you want to insert. 5. Choose OK. To delete a worksheet 1. Select at least one cell in each worksheet you want to delete. For example, to delete worksheets B, C, and D, select cells B:A1..D:A1. If you're not sure how to select a range across worksheets (a 3D range), see "To select a 3D range with the mouse" or "To select a 3D range with the keyboard" in Chapter 6. 2. Choose Edit Delete. 3. Select Sheet. 4. Choose OK. Tip To delete a single worksheet, click the worksheet letter and choose Edit Delete. When you delete worksheets, 1-2-3 automatically changes the letters of the remaining worksheets and adjusts formulas. For example, if you have four worksheets in a file, and you delete worksheet A, 1-2-3 changes the remaining three worksheets to A, B, and C.
